Help Protect Atlantic Canada’s Forests From a Devastating Spruce Budworm Outbreak
Act to Stop Spruce Budworm
As you may know, the Healthy Forest Partnership has been mounting an effort to make the case for continuation of the spruce budworm early intervention strategy. While our strategy has been progressing, there is still more work to do. We won’t be successful without significant funding support from the Government of Canada. And for that, we need your help:
1. Take action on our new website - https://actforhealthyforests.ca/ - and send a letter to your MP. It’s easy and taking action will take less than one minute.
2. Send this note or one like it to your networks and contacts who might want to take a similar stand.
We know how devastating an outbreak of spruce budworm would be in this region, because we’ve lived through it before. The economic, social, and environmental impacts would be significant and last for decades.
As people who rely on forests and forestry, we must do what we can to help make the case. Please help us reach out to decision makers in Ottawa to let them know that it’s important that the Government of Canada continue to help protect our forests from spruce budworm, by funding the early intervention strategy. Please visit https://actforhealthyforests.ca/ to send a letter to your MP today. Share this request with others who understand what’s at stake and would be willing to help.
Thanking you in advance for your support.
